On the eve of Christmas i.e, 10th June’ 2015, sports meet for the children in the age group of 8 to 18 years was organised in Rangati Village, Banarhat to inculcate a spirit of competition and sportsmanship in children. The event saw over 150 children, participating in various events like 100 mtrs sprint, 400 mtrs sprint, spoon & marble race, sack race and many more. The children were thrilled to participate in the races and winning or losing did not really matter them. The children showed extraordinary spirit, enthusiasm and discipline throughout the day. The day ended with the prize distribution ceremony.
After a huge collection of about 120 pairs of old & woollen clothes, early morning on 15th December’ 2015, we with three volunteers started this noble activity by unloading the bags of old clothes from the vehicle and started distributing to the poor & needy people on the road of Rangati Village, Banarhat. The poor people were very happy to receive cloths when in need and blessed us wholeheartedly. The smile on their face was impossible without the contribution from the common people of the town.
Most of the people living around forest area of Rangati Village collected wood for their fuel needs and let their cattle graze on the greens. This had a major effect on the flora and the ecosystem and also impacted the wildlife. And, for providing a solution to this endangering situation, we along with our team on 26th January, 2016 started creating awareness by educating these people about the impact of these activities on our environment and also convinced them to use cow-dung cakes, forest produce etc instead of depending on woods. We also made people aware of LPG cylinders for their fuel requirements and also asked them to contact us for any support required to get the gas connection.
