Annual report 2016-17

Works done during the year:

1. Eye Check-up Camp

“Eyes are the windows of the soul”

Eyes play a vital role in our day to day lives and are perhaps the most precious gift we have. It can become embarrassing if we fail to recognize a person due to lack of good vision. So moving forward with this view in mind, on 12th July, 2016, taking help of eye specialists of Govt Hospital from Siliguri, we have set up a free eye check-up camp in Rangati Village, Banarhat. Nearly 575 patients were screened, out of which about 65 patients were detected with eye problems. They were given proper medicines so that the problem gets cured. The objective was to provide free treatment to all and promote natural ways of improving eye sight.

2. Save Water Campaign

“Paani ko paani ke tarah mat bahao, Time to Save”

Water is the most valuable resource of nature. It is an endless creation by god so people don’t take care of this matter. As a result crisis of water become one of the most important issue. Desperately using of water is a bad sign for the world. There are many areas in the world where people don’t get their drinking water properly. The beauty of nature is affected by this problem. So we have to use the water as much we need without wasting. With this vision in our mind, on 15th August’ 2016 our team started spreading awareness among the common people about the potential problems arising due to water scarcity. Apart from this, new techniques of conserving water like Rainwater harvesting, creating ponds and there maintenance was discussed and convinced people to practice this.

3. Visit to Old Age Home “APNA GHAR”

“People helping People”

Early morning on 20th February, 2017 we marched for a visit to old age home “Apna Ghar” to distribute Coal & Tea and also helping them overcoming their loneliness by spending some time and listening to what they had to say. We were all touched and had tears in our eyes while listening to their past stories. We hope that by sharing their problems and taking care of them would have made them feel comfortable and homely and a part of our society.
