We supported the local villagers of Rangati Busty, Jalpaiguri to plant some tubular vegetables in fallow land in the neighbouring regions and kitchen gardens by distributing free seeds, technical know how, periodic inspection and final linkage if required. This helped them in generating supplementary income so that their livelihood can improve and they can have extra earnings for medical, social and educational needs. Such efforts help in changing the lives of the people in the long term and supports the family. It indirectly helps on preventing malnutrition and trafficking also.
It is a taboo in remote areas to discuss about woman personal hygiene, however this very reason is the principal cause of medical issues in woman as they are not aware of several medical advancement and technological developments around. Our field volunteers took this initiative to discuss about woman personal hygiene amongst tea garden workers during their recess and answer their queries. Several woman had wrong notion about few things which were cleared on the spot. Such exercise to make the woman aware shall be a far reaching exercise and preventing health issues.
The crop harvested was very good and the villagers benefitted from this program immensely. Now they have formed a Self Help Group to take the program forward and also seek government assistance for their other programs.
Like in the past this year also we have collected winter clothes from several of our donors and after sufficient collection we took them all to Ranagti Busty and Jalapara Area of Jalpaiguri District and started this noble activity of distribution amongst the elderly and children warm clothes.
The poor people were very happy to receive cloths when in need and blessed us wholeheartedly. The smile on their face was impossible without the contribution from the common people of the town.
